Turnstyle Designs living finishes change with time and use. Polished brass components are treated using different processes that change the surface, either by accelerated aging as with the Vintage and Burnished finishes or brushing as with our Satin Brass.
All living finishes are finished with a highly durable wax, which will wear according to use. Exterior living finishes will respond to the atmosphere of the location and evolve over time.
Solid Brass
After polishing, Turnstyle Designs brass components undergo various surface treatments, such as accelerated aging or brushing, to achieve their distinctive finishes

Solid Hammered
Crafted from solid brass, each piece is expertly polished, then hand-hammered and polished again to achieve a refined, high-sheen surface. Available in both solid and plated options, these finishes feature a distinctive hammer-blow texture that subtly refracts light. Durable, easy to maintain, and rich in character, they bring a tactile elegance to any cabinet or drawer.

Amalfineâ„¢
Amalfineâ„¢ is a proprietary composite blend of materials, which has been perfected since 1992. Each finish is made up of its own unique blend of materials that run throughout the handle. Every piece is hand cast and hand machined before being finished in 2-3 separate processes that can take up to four hours to produce the perfect finish.
Warm to the touch, tactile and incredibly detailed, Amalfineâ„¢ finishes are extremely durable and maintenance free. Each design and pattern translates differently according to the finish.
Recommended for interior use only.
Leather
Turnstyle Designs have been perfecting the process of making leather door and cabinet hardware for more than 20 years.
Leather handles are bonded and hand stitched using only the finest full grain, vegetable tanned bridal leather.
The four classic woven leather finishes are made from seamless cross weave leather, supplied by a small Italian specialist that has perfected the art of weaving flat strands of leather into seamless tubes. This is then bonded onto specially produced recessed brass work to retain and preserve the cut ends.
