The beginnings of Gregory Croxford Living can be found through several generations of honest, high quality, and overall exemplary craftsmanship.
In 1929, Harold McGrail began manufacturing reproduction furniture fittings in Birmingham, England. His company, Armac Brassworks, would see him at the helm just shy of sixty years as he expanded its reach and found opportunity even in the most arduous of times. (In World War II, for instance, Armac Brassworks was commissioned by the British government to manufacture parts for Spitfire planes used by the British in combat.)
The second generation that followed, led by Harold’s son Bryan, aimed even larger and higher. Armac Brassworks pushed well past the borders of England and into North America, Australia, and New Zealand, fostering relationships with distributors that Armac still works with nearly thirty years later.
Now, 92 years after its inception, Armac Brassworks is now known to the world as Armac Martin. The luxury brass hardware company is continually focused on exquisite design using the finest materials, whilst upholding the brand’s solid and steadfast traditions across global markets. Armac Martin products remain entirely designed and manufactured in the heart of England, carrying with them not only beautiful design, but a deep sense of history and heritage.

Gregory, a fourth generation McGrail, has been quoted saying, “We often joke that McGrails have brass running through their blood.” He, like much of his family, was brought into the business at a young age, working on the family floor as a teenager. Here, he gained an appreciation for the quality and care that went into creating Armac products. Gregory later progressed into sales, and after some time, he decided it was time to spread his wings. He immigrated to Australia to establish his own brand, Gregory Croxford Living.
Gregory Croxford Living is the exclusive distributor of renowned British brands; Armac Martin, FrankAllart, and Turnstyle Designs—making the brand the premiere destination for the world’s finest door and cabinet hardware. Even with its eyes towards a future full of exciting design solutions, the brand upholds its original, beloved designs of luxury knobs, pulls, handles, catches, shelf brackets, decorative grilles, and its recent addition of mirrors.
However, the brand’s interests lie not only in representing its familial heritage, but in building upon it. Gregory says that it is the brand’s aim to spark new conversations around cabinetry, and that hardware isn’t to be underestimated in its capacity to elevate an entire room. The catalogue easily reflects this, combining the best of traditional hardware with contemporary designs, catering to a multitude of palates and perspectives.
The brand also offers partially and fully bespoke design and manufacturing services, in which it marries superior, storied craftsmanship with timeless, stylish, and refined design. It’s no surprise then, that Gregory Croxford Living draws in the very best architects, designers, developers and homeowners on this side of the world, providing each one a pleasurable experience with as much thorough guidance as one may possibly need.

Gregory Croxford Living, while delivering products that serve a practical purpose, adorns a space in aesthetically thrilling touches that are simultaneously current and evergreen.
